A detective sergeant fired from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office in September has filed a lawsuit
claiming he was targeted for dismissal by his supervisors because they believed he criticized Prosecutor
Wayne J. Forrest publicly when he was up for reappointment in 2003.
Richard Myers filed the lawsuit in federal court last month alleging that top officers in the department spread
lies about his conduct, harassed him on the job and gave him undesirable assignments in an effort to drive
him from the prosecutor's office.
